Receipt is the one moment when tagging is close to free. The item is already in your hands, the box is already open, and the data is already on screen. Tag it later and you have to find it again, handle it again and verify again which item it was — which is exactly why RFID projects stall. Here the tagging is baked into work you were doing anyway.
The other side of the loop is where it pays back. A UHF tag reads at a distance and in bulk, without line of sight, so counting means walking past rather than working down a list item by item. That only holds if the tag hangs off the right registration, which is what the front of the flow is for: the scanned supplier code is looked up at Copaco, Oosterberg, Wimood and Lydis, you print your own QR label to a Zebra ZT621R, and QR code and UHF tag point at the same item.

Yes — that is the point of the setup. The same application that couples the tag on receipt reads it back later and counts it. No second platform and no separate RFID vendor required.
A QR code has to be seen to be scanned: one item at a time, in hand, the right way up. A UHF tag reads at a distance and in bulk, without line of sight. That mostly pays off when counting — you walk past instead of handling everything.
Because later means finding the item again, handling it again and re-checking which item it was. On receipt it is already in your hands and the data is already on screen. That difference decides whether an RFID project ever finishes.
